This site captures our ongoing reflections and the progress of the ASIP project. Our ASIP team comprises a diverse group of individuals, each contributing to ASIP in unique and meaningful ways. We will acknowledge their contributions briefly in this main page, but please note that this playbook mainly documents our narrative and interaction with the project.

<aside> 👋 Welcome to the team! We strive to empower African children with technologies such as the L-pad (learning pads), bringing education to students with limited educational resources. We collaborate with the non-profit organization "We Are Bibli," consisting of a team of executives and over 200 volunteers, creating 30+ pictorial storybooks. We integrate their children’s books into our L-pads, then send the L-pads to Africa, allowing African students to access such a rich digital library. However, our team isn’t simply the “medium” of story transfer between Canadian students and African students. We have developed solar-powered technology connected to the L-pads to harness the solar energy in Kenya, making L-pad learning both energy sustainable and modern. We are coding games using Kotlin onto the L-pads to make learning more appealing and engaging. Our innovative approach ensures that learning never stops, even in the most remote areas.

The L-Pad is more than just a device; it’s a gateway to a world of knowledge. Solar-powered and constantly updated with the latest children’s books from WeAreBibli volunteers, the L-Pad ensures that learning is always within reach. With the help of StarLink, we can provide real-time updates and support, no matter where the students are.

Our goal:

  1. Reach 5,000 children across 20 schools in Kenya.
  2. Integrate personally-coded educational games into the L-pads in addition to the solar charger extension.

What we have achieved:

  1. Sent 20 L-Pads to Africa within the year of 2024 with uploaded WeAreBibli children’s stories

Together, we can achieve our moonshot vision of a world where every child has access to quality education.
