Platforms to use:
- Coding platform: Kotlin on Andriod Studio
- Canvas: To custom visual scenes and drawings
- OnClickListeners: Handles the multiple choice user interactions
- ImageView and VideoView: Displaying images or short videos
Game Structure:
- Begin with a black and white world that is dull and polluted. This is the main page of the game.
- Players can click on each of the 17 places pinpointed around the globe (each place is experiencing one of the 17 sustainable development issues).
- Once clicked, they are brought to a visual scene and read a detailed explanation that educates them on the global issue, as well as how that specific place represents/interacts with the global issue.
- Players must help these places and people. We let them choose between three solution plans: bad, good, and super effective
- There is a different visual outcome for each solution
- If chose bad or good, the screen turns red and the words “Try Again” appear
- If chose super good, the screen turns green and the words “Problem Solved” appear
- Once the “problem has been solved”, players zoom back out to the world and return to the main page. The “solved” place turns colourful.
- Once all 17 places around the globe are colourful, the game ends. Ultimately, the colour is symbolic of the rebirth of a healthier, more sustainable world, reflecting the powerful impact of informed decisions and actions. This journey not only educates players about real-world issues but also empowers them to understand that their choices can lead to meaningful, positive change.
- Players can press the restart button and play again.
